Last day in Denali Park was great too. Of course we didn´t do the whole Stampede trail. I mean we didn´t reach the magic bus. Do you remember?
Yes, Cris McCandless
In deed, the magic bus where McCandless passed away was really far. You need one day and a half hiking to reach the bus. But we went inside the tundra and best of all, we got the best shots of the Mount McKinley. The weather was incredible and it is not easy to get that pics of that mountain from Denali Park. We did it and we were happy. Now you can see the tundra and the Highest One.
It´s huge, it´s great, it´s in Alaska. You have to go.
Iturri is happy but tired.
It was hard but don´t worry, the best it´s coming.
After four hours of hiking, we decided to go to Fairbank and later to Chena Hot Springs. Why not?
And we had good times there too. Chena Hot Springs are 350 miles away from Anchorage. Yes too far. But you know we saw yesterday too the Aurora Boreial. Can you imagine the satisfaction after too many miles of hiking and driving? I have no pics, but i can tell you that it´s a king of miracle in heaven, my friends. Outstanding and awesome. Mother Nature is still working for us. I can not understand why, because we are not treating her well, just the opposite. Anyway, enjoy while you can and live and let die, that is my motto.
Tomorrow we are going to Seward to see the glaciers. We are going by train. We will get up at 5.30 am to take it at 6.45 am. I´m goin to sleep now. Goodnight in Anchorage (Alaska)
PS. Gara, we have been without Wi-fi for skyping. I´ll try to do it in Seward tomorrow. Kssssssss
Glen Beck and Sarah Palin are planning to come to Anchorage together next 11th. And we are coming back that day to Anchorage. OMFG. We have to do something. Any ideas????? No ceasefire in Anchorage, jajajajajaja. Eat the rich, eat Sarah.
The banjo is playing just for all of you. Click the movie and listen to the soundtrack of Into The Wild while you are seeing the pics. We have been from 8am to 4 pm inside this awesome national Park and preserve. And i have no comments to tell you my friends. It´s been incredible. We have seen almost everything.
BEARS TOO, BEARS TOO, BEARS TOO, BEARS TOO (i think eight black grizzlies more or less) And Javi is still alive. Now is taking a nap, exhausted after running towards the bears jajajajajajajaj all day long.
Well, take a look but here you can see Mooses, Caribus, Dall sheeps, Wolves, Grizzlies. We saw birds too and the Tundra and Taiga in the beginning of the Fall. AWESOME. No celing above us.
Ten or even more wolves.
Two bears. Yes they were pretty far away but here they are.
A Moose inside the Tundra in Denali.
A hiden Moose
Dall sheeps in Denali
Two more bears
OH MY F**** GOG. This is a family, Ms Palin jajajajaja
We don´n know what type of animal is this one. I was asking to two or three rangers in Denali but it was impossible to discover this strange animal. Take a look.
We are now having breakfast in Talkeetna, which is a small tiny little village near Denali Park. After snooring (sleeping is ok) for ten hours more or less. And i´m with a T-shirt and short pants. Can you dig it? This is summer, people from Berkeley. What are we doin´ to Pacha Mama? How long is the Earth gonna be rolling? I even can say anything, but i´m sure that something is happening and we don´t know what it is (Thanks Bob), or do we?
But can you imagine driving a car and near Talkeetna and without notice anything and expecting anything too, suddenly there it is, the Mont. Mckinley.
The weather was terrific so we decided to flew yesterday (two days ago) over the McKinley, why not? And was gorgeous, was incredible, amazing indeed. I have to think really hard to remember something like flying around the McKinley and its glaciers. Perhaps, only The Great Canyon comes to my mind. But it´s completely different. We landed on one of the glaciers too and it was awesome.
Do you see the blue light and the holes? OMFG, OM FUCKIN´ G.
And we landed too.............
And we continued the flight and it was outstanding. The glaciers, the light, the scenery, the pilot jajajajaj
Si vis pacem, parabellum, that is Javi´s T-shirt but you can not read it. And the other one is the great Strummer of The Clash, of course, reaching Heaven again.
Above, approaching the Mont Mckinley
Finally we decided to come back to Talkeetna, and i took the plane because we are from Bilbao (Basque country) Why not? jajajajaj
Just kidding my friends.
As i told you before its difficult to see something like that. But you are smart so with the pics and the writing i think you can imagine more or less how it was.
Now i´m tired. We have been hiking in Denali. Not too much, only three hours but the landscape is out of control.
We can not understand why but luckily the fall (autumn) is here to stay and it´s exploded completely in Denaly park. I will show you in the next post. Its raining and it´s cold but during the morning the weather has been ok. WE can not complaint, my friends.
If you wanna come with us in this special journey-adventure-crazy trip
First step. Read again Into the Wild by John Krakauer. You have to.
Second one. Take the sountrack of the movie by Seann Penn. It´s cheap and it is Eddie Vedder.
Third one. Put Into the Wild in the DVD and enjoy. O DREAM, better to say.
But please, don´t cry, baby. This is Anchorage at 2.20am
I love her style. Michelle Shocked is a real good songwriter
"Texas always seems so big, well you know your are in the largest state in the Union, when you are darling in Anchorage"
"I soud like a housewife, i think i´m a housewife"
That is the city where we are goin´ today. But it´s gonna be at night. In between, please enjoy this song as we are goin´ to enjoy our last in Seattle. We are goin´ to the museum to see two exhibitions: one about Kurt Kobain and the other one about Andy Warhol.
Two guys envolved in Culture. After goin´ to the SAM (Seattle Art Museum) here are the pics. Again completely stolen. Ja ja ja ja jaj ja.
God protect us¡¡¡¡¡
That is outside the museum. Legal.
No copyright needed. jajajajaj
And this one is inside. Stolen. Fine 10.000$
Poor Kurt Cobain. Drinking bad wines you lost your head. And everybody knows that its better to burn out than to fade away, but not in that way bro´.
Well, Seattle is a must seeing city. You all have to go. We have been very lucky because it is suppose to be raining almost everyday but you can see here that it is not always true. And we are happy for that.
uppppp sorry, what are we thinking about. That wasn´t the pic. She seems to be from Paris (just for her lips of course) Well, in any case, we are leaving Seattle in a few minutes. Anchorage and Alaska (and Sarah Palin, of course) are wating for us.
ksssssssssssssssssssssss (for the pictures´s girl, not for Palin)
P.E. What is new in my body? Ja ja ja ja ja. It´s been funny can you imagine buying that stuff in Seattle instead of in Castro e.g.? YES WE CAN¡¡¡¡¡
Thanks to Siniestro Total (a crazy spanish (they are from Galiza) group) we know now where are we goin. We are moving to Alaska. But as i said the other day to Steve, it is not the first step or the last one it is the journey my friend, it is the journey. We are not goin´ to Itaca, we are goin´to Alaska but in the meantime we are now in Seattle.
Everybody is talking about the heavy rain in this city, but yesterday Seattle welcomed us with the best day of the summer since we have arrived to Cali- In any case, first of all, i have a god pic for you, the staff of LSI. Last weekend we had a really good time and the beaches in north California are amazing to. We were listening to The Beach Boys and then a outstanding beach appeared from a dream. Jajajajajaj.
And Roy decided to make an speech for LSI´s staff. Of course i´m joking.
But we are not any longer in California´s beaches. We are with the indians, Mr Seattle and the rest of the tribe. And for sure that is the reason why the grunge was born here. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Soundgarden and more and more groups that put Seattle in the middle of the new rock stream all over the world.
Yeah, that was the 90´s but take a look at this stuffffffffffffff
This is the Experience Music Project. Yes Molly, it is incredible if you love music. It´s a place to spend hours or even days. Now there is a exhibition about The Supremes too. Can you remember their clothes, skirts and the rest. Take a look.
WE ARE STARVING. And we (Iturri and me) are goin´to have breakfast my friends. Iturri has gone crazy about the bears- Look at him.
Time flies my friend. It was not long time ago when we were here talkin´ about the new stories in San Francisco, the gay and lesbians Parade and now we are just saying goodbye to my school, the great LSI. Today it´s been a special day for a lot of people here in LSI, but one guy is gonna be missed deeply. He is a teacher, but i think we have to talk about Steve in another way. Teaching is only his job, i mean the way he get by on. But, indeed, he is a commediant, a showman. Probably, a really shy man, but really really funny, hilarious and wity. I think he would probably be making much more money writing scripts for that kid of weird and odds tv programs. He is a storyteller himself.
By the way, do you wanna know who is the man i´m talkin´ about. Ladies an gentlemen, please clap your hands and scream a big (a huge) ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Mr Steve, the man.....
And his music
In trance
Yoko has taken all the pics, of course. Yoko is japanese and a great photographer. And a good friend, i guess. And she is in love with the Basque Country. She likes our style of life, the food and, you know, almost everything. She is really a smart and interesting woman.
Even though today it´s been a sad day (five guys are leaving the class, me included), we always have fun with this man. As i told you before, he should be writing or even in front of the camera, He is creative, man. And he know how to tell stories and nowadays -in this times where there is a lack of creativity everywhere- that is very important. That is a gift to take care for.
The class was sad but we´ve been having fun and enjoying as usual. Why not? Tomorrow there will be more students, another teacher instead of Steve and the dices will roll again and again. So roll the dice my friend.
These are my classmates. We have been together during the last days-weeks-months. And it´s been funny. We have learnt a lot and we are prepared for everything. Even to carry with Steve jajajajajajaj.
You can see the diversity here in the pic. OMFG. I love San Francisco´s melting pot.
But the world is still turning. Turn it on again, please. Do you remember that song?
Tonight we are going to see Norah Jones and Corinne Bayle rae in the Greek Theatre, in Berkeley. It´s gonna be great. For sure.
